Artist History
Menteco music production began in 1991, at the age of 13, using a Casio MA-201 keyboard. Records were made layer upon layer using and old Hitachi portable radio cassette recorder and an Aiwa cassette recorder walkman. Although the MA-201 output was stereo, the finished work was mono and had tape noise levels increasing accordingly with the number of audio layers.
By the end of 1993, Menteco had taught himself score writing and got a Roland JV80 synthesizer. Using a new Sony double cassette recorder Hi-Fi system, new recordings were stereo and less noisy.
In 1996 he got his first PC and began using the MIDI features of the Roland JV80 entering the world of desktop music production.
In 1999 he made his online debut by joining the mp3.com artist community.
By the end of 2001, he had for the first time felt that his digital audio workstation setup was ready for serious creative work and music production. |
