Artist History
dharmachine has been creating their unique blend of spacey trip-hop influenced modern rock since the early spring of 1999. Merging the influences of such artists as Tricky, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Bjork, and Smashing Pumpkins with each individual’s musical and lyrical statement. dharmachine released their debut EP Bang! to a significant amount of critical acclaim in July of 1999. Since recording Bang! the band has been playing to audiences throughout the Midwest including Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Nashville among others. Recently, dharmachine has gone back into the studio to record their new full-length CD, Ride the Clean Fuel, which will hit the streets in July. “I think Ride the Clean Fuel has a greater amount of focus than Bang! ” states Smith, “Everyone will see a more mature and dynamic dharmachine on this effort.” dharmachine will continue to play in support of Ride the Clean Fuel throughout the Midwest and beyond! Plans are in the works to expand their touring to the east and quite possibly Europe by the end of the year. Press Reviews
"With its changes in attitude and tempo, the CD manages to sound like a festival of bands, and without ever pausing for a moment. The six songs on Bang! blend together to form one cohesive, impressive work of art." --The California Aggie |
