Artist description DEJ is an artist that has been producing and writing for artists since his teens. Cutting his teeth in the pop/jazz genre, he scored his first #1 album on the Polygram/Verve label at age 18 with an artist by the name of Nestor Torres (Latin jazz flutist). David Elliott Johnson was born in Miami in the late 60's. His father being a 2nd generation jazz drummer/composer helped mold and drive his creativity to unbelievable heights. David, taking up drums for a 3rd generation, began entertaining the masses in talent shows and community theaters as early as age 5. He has gone on to perform and share his talents throughout the world with recording artists Expose',Debbie Gibson,Don Henley,Bruce Springsteen,Glen Frey, Bruce Hornsby, Sheryl Crow, Nil Lara and Englebert Humperdink just to name a few. For the last 12 years David has been producing and developing new artists for major and independent labels alike, delivering new music to the world. David is currently writing and producing his own album. He spends his spare time writing and producing new material for established and up'n coming pop and R&B artists .
