Press Reviews
Electrified by Corruptdata This tracks borders on some of the more experimental DnB out there, like Photek or MuZiq, but more melodic, playful and fun. The track is quick-paced and schizophrenic, with always a lot going on and never a dull moment. What's so great about this track is Corruptdata's complete willingness to experiment with new, freaky, spacey sounds, all of which lend themselves perfectly to the theme of UFO's being shot at and kindly not shooting back. There was evident and careful thought in selecting the themes that set the track's mood and progression. The result evokes comic book images of space invaders, asteroids and little single line triangular space ships that shoot tiny laser blasts. The marriage of perky breakbeats and samples of poor mystified people trying to explain the baking sensation that comes from electrification is just perfect. Its hard not to laugh out loud when listening to this track, because the voice samples really are terrific. And it all gets topped off by the eventual landing of what sounds like a very large alien craft ready to take over the earth! Now that's different! -EPD |
