Al Basile is a singer/songwriter who is usually
a sideman for Duke Robillard; on his own CD he is
backed up by Robillard and his band. Basile's
influences are broader than Robillard's; the
emphasis is on well-crafted songs. Basile does not
tour, so he's reaching an audience online
exclusively. |

Artist History
Al Basile was the first trumpet player for
Roomful of Blues in 1973. He has enjoyed a
longstanding relationship with Duke
Robillard, who founded Roomful; Basile
appears on most of Robillard's
recordings throughout the 90's as
trumpet player and songwriter. This is Basile's
first solo outing.
The Duke Robillard Band is currently on Shanachie
and has been on Pointblank and Rounder over the
last twelve years. |
