    Artist History
Connie Bass' passion for music was passed on to her son (Shane Page). Shane became a self-taught lead guitarist. He began playing with Lynyrd Skynyrd as his main influence at the age of 14. When Shane was 15 his mother married soon to be singer and rhythm guitarist, Tommy Bass. Tommy and Shane began working on lyrics, rhythm tracks, and leads. With the singer/songwriter, lead guitarist and rhythm guitarist in place, there were only two things missing, the bassist and drummer. Nina Smith came on as the bassist after she and Shane started dating in the summer of 1997. Almost one year after they met, Shane convinced Nina to pick up a guitar. Shane wanted Nina to play rhythm, but she had other ideas. Nina wanted to play bass. Finally, Connie (Shane's mom) and Nina talked him into letting her play bass. She practiced only one week before playing a gig. Over the next three years they played small gigs they found here and there. Though they had some originals, the majority of the songs were covers. This wasn't where the band's heart was. They wanted their own music with their own sound. After much collaboration they decided to bring in a new member. He would add vocals and drums. Damian Smith became a member in March of 2001. He and Shane played guitars together for awhile in high school. They met again when Shane approached Damian and asked that he run sound for the band one night. After running sound he met up with them to jam a few times. Finally, the band decided to make him official. This brought an entirely new sound. Shane brought in some songs he had written. Nina and Damian also began writing lyrics and singing songs. They also added backup vocals and a sound tech. Now with all the changes that had taken place they needed a new band name. It took several days of looking through the dictionary and a lot of voting to find a name no one else had that they were all happy with. The final decision of course, "Fated Circle." Once the new band was formed everyone started getting excited. Fated Circle had a choice. They could book some gigs and wait to be heard or they could go straight into the studio and send their music out world wide. So being hard headed musicians, determined to make it, they went to the studio to release their first album, "MELTDOWN," and now we bring it to you. Enjoy!! Loretta F. Smith Fated Circle would like to thank Doyle Wood at Daxwood Studios, all our families and friends for their support through the years, and thanks to all of our devoted fans wherever you are. Damian would like to give a special thanks to mom and dad for putting up with all the noise over the years, all the band directors who pushed so hard, and Loretta for her undying support. Tommy would like to give a special thanks to George and Kay for support when I needed it, Connie (my wife) for everything, for without her none of this would be possible. Shane would like to give a special thanks to Ma for being so passionate about music and inspiring me to be a musician, Tommy for the countless hours of one on one practice, Nina for understanding, and becoming part of my dream, Brad at Edwards for keeping my guitar playable, and finally all my friends and family for standing by me. Nina would like to give a special thanks to my mom and dad for believing in my voice, Connie for convincing the band to let me play bass, Shane for supporting my decision to play bass and having patience while I learned to play. Without you I wouldn't be where I am today. Thank you. I love you!
