Artist History
The Project is dedicated to experimentation in
Sound, Technology and Theatre. We consciously
strive to bring the show back to shows by creating
an immersive multi-media environment that transports
the audience out of the mundane and into the
arcane. We create a space for the listener-
participant to fully engage the Sonic.
The Shows are Festivals. The Songs are Vehicles. The goal is Rapture.

Press Reviews
From Washington City Paper 10/04/02
-----------
We are moving into October country, as Ray Bradbury calls it, when the long, cold shadows of autumn reach deep into our psyches. In other words, it's Goth time, baby. And who better to inaugurate this most spooky of seasons than the purveyors of "D.C.'s transcendent sound" THE DIONYSUS PROJECT? Answer: none. None more better. That sound, and that transcendence, is ably provided by Tobias Kienle (drums, keyboards, didgeridoo, samples) and Nikolai Usack (guitars, vocals, mandolin, flutes, bodhrán). The band is currently recording a new CD but you may drink deep of their singularly stellar sounds here (http://www.dionysusproject.com/WelcomeSounds.htm) and here (/artists/309/dproject.html). As the days grow shorter, we look forward to spending more time in the dark with the Dionysians. Transcend, friends... |
