    Artist History
Former Aluminum Tadpole guitarist Napp received some music software for Christmas in 2000. Shortly thereafter, his friend Chicken Bucockular supplied him with a handy starter CD chock full of illicit samples from "Manos: The Hands of Fate", "Success In Life" (Robert Tilton's classic television comedy), and other chestnuts of popular culture. Armed with these tools as well as his own vast library of strange soundbites, Napp completed his first creation (*Flash's Fantasy*) and inflicted it upon an unsuspecting public. Inspired by the song's warm reception, Napp decided to create an entire album in a similar vein. . . and DJ Napp was born.

    Press Reviews
*I Am Torgo* Review by Glenn Morrison (Entertainment Critic, KLTZ Channel 83), 6/27/2001 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *I Am Torgo* marks the debut of a bright young talent, sure to become one of this millenium's hottest new stars. DJ Napp (who prefers using this pseudonym to maintain his anonymity and artistic freedom) has mined the cultural landscape for audio oddities, and from these bits 'n' pieces has painstakingly crafted a truly unique and unprecedented personal pastiche. The album starts strongly with *Hands of Fate* -- a haunting tribute to a little-known art film that tells the tragic story of a misunderstood bearded cripple and a forgetful diva. The excitement builds on the second track, *Altar Surprise*. In DJ Napp's words: "I needed a sound that interpreted Tilton's announcement ('God is going to ZAP you!'); finally I found a sample from a popular cartoon series that fit the bill." Combine that with Ed Spunth's vocal interpretation of being "zapped" and you get a very memorable bit of ear candy indeed. *The Negotiator* tells a tense and oddly surreal tale of a life-or-death situation reaching an impasse due to a lack of the right ice cream. "I don't know what I was thinking when I made this one," admits Napp. The track features the voice talents of Aluminum Tadpole cohorts Choagie and Estee. After a nostalgic trip through time and space in a disco-trek called *Contact Boogie*, Napp slows things down a bit with a dream-like visit to Dr. Benway's lecture hall for a demonstration of a rare operation that has *No Medical Value*. The rest is pure Nappitude: A song about soap, a tribute to 80's producer Giorgio Moroder, a scathing portrait of an unloving talk-show host, a basset hound's daydream, a vacationing couple's nightmare ... the list goes on. But enough talk. Experience the magic that is *I Am Torgo* for yourself. The Master WOULD approve!
