Artist History
A Los Angeles native, Chris Myers has enjoyed success as a composer, conductor, and pianist. He received his undergraduate degree in composition from the USC Thornton School of Music and is currently involved in graduate studies at Indiana University, where he studies with Sven-David Sandström. His composition teachers have included Donald Crockett ("Celestial Mechanics"), Frank Ticheli ("Blue Shades," "Postcard"), and Stephen Hartke ("The Ascent of an Equestrian in His Balloon," "Oh Them Rats is Mean in My Kitchen"). Chris has also studied choral composition with Morten Lauridsen ("Les Chansons des Roses," "Lux Aeterna"), orchestration and counterpoint with James Hopkins, and conducting with Hans Beer and John Barnett. |
