Artist History
'Beef W comes from Muscatine, a small hell-hole in Iowa where there's nothing to do but rock,' explains guitarist Brooks Strause as I begin my interview. A young, but experienced and extremely talented band, Beef Wellington was formed when members of the now legendary band, Dr. Minimus, came together once more to choose rock over inactivity. They were soon joined by guitarist/songwriter Brooks Strause, brother of drummer Landon Strause. As I said these kids are young, though their experience and talent may make it hard for you to believe. Carl Sondrol their extremely gifted keyboardist is a mere 19 years old. Kevin Chick, bassist extraordinaire and Landon, the younger Strause brother are unbelievably only 17 years old. The oldest member of the group, Brooks is 20 years old and wieghs in at an astonishing 500 lbs. Except for the 500 pounds part, all of these amazing facts are true. Skilled vocalists, adept at harmonizing, each of the members of Beef Wellington is eager to take lead vocal duties from song to song. With all members sharing song writing credits, they are definitely a pop machine. If their amazing, energetic live act and fun, insightful songwriting are any indication, Beef Wellington is a band that is most definitely moving up in the world.
