Artist description Angry Chiwawah is lead by multi-talented Carlos Villalobos. Raised in Chicago, Carlos learned to play drums, bass, piano and guitar before spending his teens playing drums in rock, pop, and blues bands. In his early 20's he began writing and producing songs for artists in R&B, Pop, Rock, Electronica, Christian, and Jazz/New Age genres as well as doing studio session work for major labels/artists. In 1998 he signed with Higher Octave/Virgin Records with his instrumental project, ESPERANZA (i.e., Gypsy Kings) and made Los Angeles his new home. He's always been into heavier music, though, and soon ventured off into his ultimate project ANGRY CHIWAWAH, in which he's signed with Rhodium Records. ANGRY CHIWAWAH is a rock band with heavy guitars, eerie synth textures, and Latin rhythms and drum loops. Inventive nylon guitar textures with vocal hooks and melodies abound. It's solid rock, falling somewhere between Linkin Park's commercialism and the arcane inventiveness of Filter or Nine Inch Nails.
