Artist History
i was born in pennsylvania.
i lived on this farmhouse in reinholds till my father destroyed it.
then my mom and i moved to a town called paradise, where we lived
on asylum grounds. my mom worked in the kitchen for about a year.
there were schitzophreniacs walking about my little 7 year old life talking
to themselves and anyone else who would listen.
my mom would go work in the kitchen, filling the
bowls of all the patients and their make-believe friends,
as i recorded vocal-only songs on this little tape player
we had back at our appt.
then we moved to this farmhouse surounded by cornfields.
i found out about records.
i found james taylor and terance trent d'arby.
somewhere in there we moved to ca. and i found out about
freedom.
when we moved to ct. i found an old guitar,
and found out that i need lessons.
pennyroral tea was one of the first songs i ever played and sang.
i was 13 and obsessed with nirvana, sonic youth,
bikini kill, and enya.
then at 14 i found ani.
15, i foun rap, jungle and sublime and trip-hop.
16 i found weeeeenn!!!!!! i worshiped ween.
17 i found happy hardcore, booty house, catatonia, bree,
and and incubis.
18 i found jimmy eat world.
all i ever wanted to be was a singer-songwriter.
thats all. |
