Artist History
Veronica, the East Coast Rock & Roll band with indie-pop sensibilities, has
been together for a few short years. The band members have been involved
in their local music scenes in different bands.
Fans of Jimmy Eat World, The Cars, The Anniversary, and The Juliana Theory
have helped the 5-piece outfit build a following in the Mid-Atlantic states,
particularly in PA since 1999. Playing their original brand of music, the
band continues to expand their fan base on a growing national level.
Veronica's debut full-length record, "Hope for a Brighter Future",
was released in late September 2001. Since then they have sold over 75% of all
units shipped. This encouraged their label to release it in the college
market. Veronica hit the airwaves with a vengeance.
The record debuted on the CMJ Top 200 Add board at #6 (1/19/02)
right below veteran rockers Bad Religion, De la Soul, Sneaker Pimps,
Chemical Brothers, and Hefner. The record has been on the Top 75 for
several weeks, so far peaking at #64.
Veronica has been on several limited pressing independent
recordings. Recently the band did a split release with Rocking Horse
Winner and will be featured on several compilations being released this
year.
Much attention has been given to Veronica as they have been courted by
various record companies. Veronica has been cautious in committing to any
one label, waiting for the right opportunity to present itself.
The opportunity materialized when Chad Militia of The Militia Group
approached Veronica and expressed an interest in the band. Weighing their
options the band decided to sign with The Militia Group, which has committed
to making Veronica one of the companies top priorities.
The band has toured the nation 4 time in 2001 and is now taking some
time off to write and record new material. Their sophmore release on The
Militia Group is due out mid-2003. They are also in talks to do a split
release with MH-N Records (Italy), opening the doors to Europe.
