Artist description
Orpheus Colossus is the distillation of various electronic musical forms through affective synethesia, ..."A chance," in the words of Austrian linguist Bartolo Eckert, "for us to hear yellow, taste chimes, and see the sweetness of human consciousness unfettered by the unities of time, place, or cognitive lucidity." Fronted by Hamburg composer/dreamers Franz Auerbach and Lucian Berg, Orpheus Colossus creates trances within trances--aural experiences that transcend classifications musical denominations. Auerbach and Berg, graduates of the Ost-Deustchland Polytechnic --the swamis of the Hamburg Fabrik-Tanz House movement -- have moved operations to London where they perform nightly to packed houses of young people deranging their senses as they expand their minds.

Artist History
Franz and Lucian, affectionately known throughout Germany as "The Sound-Painters" met while studying engineering at the Ost-Deutschland Polytechnic, in Dresden. They released four "non-albums," under the auspices of the Hamburg Kunst Fabrik (the Hamburg Art Factory) in 1999. Each disc contained a single electronic note, that, when played with the other three discs, created an aural montage of intense, even painful, beauty. Orpheus Colossus, the latest incarnation embodying Eckert's sound theory, brings the "Sound-Painters" to London where even now they are accessing the minds of the English and American public.
