Artist History
Jeffrey Michael was born in 1977 in Detroit, MI. He expressed an interest in music at an early age and began experimenting with the piano when he was six years old. He began composing his own music when he was only eleven years old. Jeffrey is a self-taught musician, who utilizes his excellent ear for his music. Some of his musical influences are pianists George Winston and Jim Brickman as well as famous film composers Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Pearl Harbor) Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Contact) and James Horner (Braveheart, Legends of the Fall).
In 1996 after briefly attending Eastern Michigan University and Schoolcraft College, Jeffrey started his own music company called Fireheart Music. Since then he has developed his company into an independent record label where he composes, produces and arranges music CD's. Under the Fireheart label he has released five piano albums including "Inspirations", "Sailing To The Stars", "Winter Spirits", "Reflections" and "Kaleidoscope."
For the past three years Jeffrey has been touring many parts of the United States, performing small concerts at bookstores and more recently has been a featured musician at many well-known art festivals and fairs. He has also performed for many illustrious companies including The Fox Family Channel, Mondavi Wineries, Versace and The American Cancer Society as well as performing in Europe.
Jeffrey also composes music for Film and Television. He has his own recording studio and has composed music for 7 films including "Bikerzombies", "Drive" and "Comic Books are for Kids." He will also be scoring the upcoming serial killer feature film "Dumping Ground" starring Michael Madsen (Resevoir Dogs), William Baldwin (Backdraft), Dennis Hopper (Speed) and Jeff Goldblum (Independence Day.) Jeffrey is planning on leaving the Detroit area in the next year to pursue a career in film and television music in the Los Angeles area.
