Artist description
Ursula, also known as "Little Bear", has studied classical music since early childhood focusing primarily on the piano and the violin. A few years ago, Ursula used her natural musical talents to teach herself the guitar and claims that she learnt it with great ease. Her main focus, however, remains in singing. Ursula continues her musical studies in vocal technique and tells us that "It is quite a challenge to apply classical vocal techniques to a Janis Joplin song". Nevertheless, Ursula still pursues the lessons with great motivation and believes the perseverance is paying off |

Artist History
Ursula's first experience as a professional musician was in an acoustic duo named PerfecTension. The duo performed for three years before the TENSIONS became too great and the pair separated. PerfecTension performed in various clubs in the greater Toronto area with their greatest venue by far occurring on July 3rd, 1997 at Mel Lastman Square. Other venues for the duo included the Grandstand Slam Competition in London, various benefits for the T.O.Night magazine and the hosting of a variety of jam nights. Since the split up of PerfecTension, Ursula has continued to perform at the various clubs, at private parties, at jam nights across the city, for various benefits for the T.O.Night magazine and for the local community television show "Daytime". Ursula recently placed first and second in two vocal competitions at the Davenport Musical Festival. Although Ursula is very comfortable performing as a solo artist, she has recently broadened her interests and has gathered a steady pool of backup musicians for performances and recording. She continues to write new songs and has recently completed her first self-titled solo CD. Along with preparing new material for her second solo CD, Ursula is now starting to take a great interest in musical theatre. She hopes that one day, she will find herself on stage in a musical production.
I've performed at most of the popular clubs in the GTA. My favourite gig was at Mel Lastman Square |
