Artist description
'Sweet Painted Ladies' consists of two harmonious female vocals, rhythm and bass guitar, percussion and violin. The band has number of acoustic rock influences, however their folk-blues-rock fusion sets them in their own musical arena! Danni Carr, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, provides full and powerful vocals, while holding the rhythm of the songs. Andrea Lane, back-up vocalist, supports Danni's vocals with harmonies and back-up fills. She also adds percussive beat to the songs. Ashley Jones, virtuoso violinist plays extravagant and original violin fills, solos and lead breaks. Michael Tricarico, on bass guitar, brings a fullness to the band as a whole. And newest addition Luke Alias provides catchy and relaxed rhythms with his 'stripped down drum kit'.{ |

Press Reviews
''It's hard to understand why this quintet haven't been picked up and pushed forth on to prime time radio along with the likes of Stella One Eleven, Kasey Chambers or other radio friendly, female led acts A constant, contrasting duo of moody female vocals is this album's highlight. Where one set of vocal chords is a little country, the other is a little folk. While one promotes huskiness, the other sells sweet and where one becomes strong the other remains floaty. They compliment each other wonderfully.
The sound is understated .. stripped back .. raw .. homemade. Chiming tambourine introduces the album on One Way Train, previewing Sweet Painted Ladies' knack for upbeat, catchy, folk inspired, country tinged melodies. The addition of discordant violin throughout makes their sound completely original. A simple keyboard pattern gliding behind nostalgic vocals and signature jingle-jangle makes Dragging the Lake a stand out track.
Intolerable Uncertainty brings with it the biggest contrast on this album. An angst-ridden tale about a 'stolen man' contradicts the previous cutesy tunes, the two vocalists overlapping each other in feisty harmony. It's full of breathy huffing, angry vocals, accelerated high squealing violin and brave trombone. A presentation of instantly appealing tunes delivered with a beautiful simplicity.''
