Artist description
Recore is a fresh new rock band operating out of Rhode Island. A few hard-learned lessons in organization and emotional management produced the solid trio of musicians that have constituted the band since late June 2001. Recore is a refreshing departure from (and mixture of) various influences in the music world. With aggressive vocals, rich basslines and energetic percussion they certainly convey a mixture of punk, pop and alternative influences accented with sounds from the both the heavier and lighter ends of the musical spectrum. With a list of influences including such bands as Fuel, Green Day, Blink182, Tool and Our Lady Peace it is impossible to peg the band as any one certain style; it is only certain that they produce solid Rock and Roll music with an intelligent mix of emotion, energy and musicianship.
In less than one year’s time, Recore has progressed from playing for friends at small private parties to having performed in venues all over Southern New England, including the Met Café, One Pelham East, Bridge Street Station, the Blackstone, the Living Room, the Call, the Century Lounge and the AS220. In 2002, Recore was the winner of the inaugural 95.5 WBRU and Rattlehead Records StrangeBru Concert Series, which allowed Providence area listeners to vote for their favorite local bands. In addition, Recore has managed to build up a strong and loyal college following by playing several shows at Brown University, Rhode Island College, University of Rhode Island, Regis College and Roger Williams University.
Recore is motivated to continue creating great music and growing as a band and as musicians, as with each new show comes new experiences and a growing fan base. This coming fall the band will release their first full length album, a testament to the dedication they hold for the art form and their ambition in pushing their talent to the limit.
