Artist description
Is this supposed to be a description of me personally? OK. Um, Modern Income started out as a band name. Only thing is, there wasn't a band. Just me, Bob Country. And the name's not even real. Just a name I conjured up from a really bad job at a music store in Atlanta that shall remain unnamed for the time being. Anyway, Modern Income is the result of rechanneling a lot of negative energy and thoughts that I was bombarded by in my personal life last year and then turned into some innovative pop weirdness and a tribute to all my favourite rock artists over the years. There's twelve 90-minute tapes full of recordings made over a seven-month stretch of time in Atlanta and Montgomery, AL. Since the album has been released, a band has been formed to play shows and maybe to record some of the next record together. See the lineup below. I'm very into the full spectrum of recorded music and I think it shows in most of my work. I don't know if everything (or anything) that I do is all that original so much as it's my take on what I feel to be quality work. If something I've recorded reminds you of something you've heard before, I take that as a good thing. Probably means we have a lot of the same albums in our collections. Can't be a bad thing! |

Musical Influences
The history of music. It sounds queer, but it's true if you think about it. |
