Artist History Born (and now back) in Chicago, IL, Melissa didn't discover her voice or songwriting talent until she moved to Houston, TX, where she embarked on an adventure with no idea how this "music thang" worked. She injected herself into the Houston Open Mic scene and within 5 years had won an award, played at SXSW,written over 75 songs and produced an album "Firefly". As her former Loky bandmate (a past endeavor), "It's not an exaggeration to say Melissa exploded into the Houston folk scene when she came out of somewhere a few years ago.
