He has been serious about music since he was 12 years of age. Striving to make music his life-long career, “I remember our parents taking us to the church to rehearse in the auditorium, we would be there for hours” said Link. Playing in several different bands, Link desired to minister through his gift of music, preaching a message of love and hope. After being in one band for three years, the band broke up and Link was devastated, “It was a hard time in my life, I lost sleep at night for months, wondering what else there was that God had gifted me in?” God came through for him right when it seemed direction was lost. He had the opportunity to travel with a Dove Award winning band “Pillar”. Their Dove award was for Best Album of the Year, they were also nominated for Best Song of the Year (“Open Your Eyes”). They are currently nominated for two Dove Awards this year. Link had the privilege to write on Pillars brand new album, titled “Fireproof” that was re-released this summer by MCA Records. “Being in the studio with Rob Beckley was a big pleasure...I came in we felt the song, and the lyrics fell in place, it was definitely God’s timing”. Link sighs. The song title is called “Further”, and you can pick it up at any Super Wal-Mart, or Christian bookstore. Link Toured with Pillar for six months, from Florida to California. He has also had the opportunity to meet, work with, open for and hang out with “Audio Adrenaline”. He was broadcasted live on Christian radio 160 stations nation wide. Having the chance also to work on a project with Steve Reischl, former member of the group Newsong. Recorded with artist such as Ethan Luck of the Supertones. Currently, the Link Tipton Band is touring across the states, getting airplay in Germany, and pursuing they’re independent priorities: booking, saving, working, and building. Link has been influenced by a variety of musical styles contributing to his modern approach to live music. His lyrical creativity is evident in his clever use of language in His original songwriting. On stage, Link relates to his crowd in a down-to-earth manner, creating a “real” life atmosphere. He is grateful to God for all that has been done in his life. “God has watched out for me all my life. A mothers prayers for her son are strong”, said Link. “I would probably be in jail or dead if my mother hadn’t pray for me like she did”. “Link loves to skateboard, snowboard, and water skiing. He looks forward to the opportunity to share the unconditional love of Christ with the people in his circle of influence. The Link Tipton band has a heart for the lost. “We are not out to start our own religion, or set ourselves above others. We are out to raise the standard, keep our walk real, our talk on the truth, and our focus on God & no one else. That is some of our many goals as Christians”. “What is being a Christian? Being Christ like! Personal walk with Him! Staying true to God casting down the fear of man. Being who God has called us to be. We are all called and everyone is just as important in Gods eyes as the next person, remember that when you see that drunken homeless guy asking you for money. Don’t just blow him off and give him money so he will be quite. Care for him, show Romans chapter 8 love to him. You will be more than glad you did”. Link
