Press Reviews
"i have been following the history of WRENCH for quite some time now. some of the members are part of some hard core bands out in california, and are making som waves here.so the style that WRENCH fusses is pretty much hard core with some growling vocals. any good band will be open to trying new things, growing musically, spend time writting songs, instead of anything that fits. WRENCH in my very opinionated opinion, took what they possessed from their previous material, as well as their other bands, and wrote 11 songs of heavy (louis anderson heavy),drudgy, groove laden metal. i'm not going to slap any sort of genre/sub genre, because that would put a limitation on their sound, and realy there isn't any one way to put it. the music flows though many stops, mid tempo elements, super heavy, mother punching breakdowns, still upholding the general vibe of the song, not losng the theme. luckily these guys are from the WEST COAST, so it sounds NOTHING like the huge explosion on the eastern side of the country that seems to be the rage now. WRENCH will add their two cents in this hybrid of metal and hard core, and i can honostly see them up around the likes of shadows fall, but much heavier. let's say you can't ave sex to WRENCH"- jim mills PIT MAG no.37 winter 2001 |
