Artist History Friday Star was born in Italy as a side project with members of a hardcore band from Rome called Stainless Delight. All started with the idea of making a melodic band following the wave of emo-pop-punk music coming out the U.S. As we started playing we've immediately found a perfect collaboration between each other and all the music came by with no much difficulty. The band is since the beginning formed by three members which are Gianni (guitar & vocals) Martino (drums & vocals) Andrea (bass). By the way, after a few months playing we thought it was good to try with a second guitar, so we've called Strength Approach's actual bass player, to help us manage it but the thing didn't last long, and it gave us the belief that the band was really meant to be a trio. All our lives gravitate around the roman punk hardcore scene, in fact we are all part of it since a long time supporting our friend's bands like Happy Noise, Strength Approach or Colonna Infame. One of the purposes of forming Friday Star is also due to the strong presence of Hardcore bands, as grind, oi! and old/new school, against a real few good melodic bands. So as the good music coming from the States, like the one of the Get up Kids, the Promise Ring and Alkaline Trio, was taking its roots in our city we thought it was great to start with that style. The result is a mix of melodic sounds and punk rhythm with an impressive vocal line. The first opinions assimilate us to some bands like Farside, Gameface and the Ataris, that take us to refuse the attribution to emo band or punk rock band. This is the reason why we are used to call our music "power-pop" because of a powerful tempo followed by some catchy melodic singings and guitars. Here and on our website you'll find the songs that are on our mini CD called "...long life debut" which can also be bought in some record store in Italy or just by writing us. That CD is the exact reflection of how Friday Star is, the sequence of the songs gives the image of a melodic band in its simplicity with the hard marks of punk. After all this explaining it's up to you to give us your opinions, we can just hope to become a well known band for good music and not for fooling around, now you just need to listen to the songs...
