We're creating a new style called SoCo Grunge, ok? Because we're sick of the posers out there, and frankly, no one can make up their mind on what we want to sound like. Therefore we play a variety of music. |

Artist History
Chain Reaction X, a South County St. Louis, Missouri band, started sometime last year as just Tim Doering screwing around on guitar with his friend Matt Q. They got together with a drummer named Erik Wolfslau within a couple of months, and were ready to start things up (originally called Chain Reaction). However, due to a little incident with Tim and Erik getting into trouble with the law, Erik quit the band. Since Matt was going off to college out-of-state soon anyway, Tim decided to forget about the band for a while. Tim tried jamming with various people, and decided that he no longer wanted a second guitarist in the band (other than a bassist). It was at the beginning of the summer of 2001 when Tim met Tom Collins, and brought up the idea of a band. Tom C., with no previous band experience, decided to jam (as the singer) with Tim and this kid named Ryan on bass. Tom C. was a quick learner, and began to work hard with Tim. Ryan didn't quite work out, and was tossed after weeks of thinking about it. For a few weeks, Tim and Tom C. thought it would never be more than just the two of them. However, Tim asked around for a drummer, and met one through an acquaintance named Dan. Dan gave him the number of Corey Titov, who Tim called up and scheduled a jam-session with. It worked well, and he became a member of the band. Finally, when Tom C. found the band its first show (a birthday party for his friend Emilio at a rented out schoolhouse named St. Cecilia's in downtown St. Louis), Tim told his old bassplaying friend Tom Fedke about it, and he was more than happy to fill in as a bassist. However, when Tom F. jammed with the band, he loved it so much that he decided to become a permanent member. Months and a few shows later, Chain Reaction X (known fondly as CRX) is doing well, although Corey recently parted ways with the band, and has since been replaced by Dustin Robinson as the drummer, who used to be in a band with Tim and Tom F. long ago called Subdue. CRX has a mailing list online at crxmusic@aol.com, a website at www.chainreactionx.com, and have made our first ever recording, a demo of our two songs "Lux" and "Kuribo's Shoe", available here on www.mp3.com , for your downloading pleasure.
