Artist History
Cecret Jones is a descendant of a long line of musicians and vocalists, born 1973 in Los Angeles, California, Cecret became interested in singing at the age of 3. At a very early age, her talent was realized. Cecret sang her first solo in front of hundreds of elementary school students at the age of 12, wrote her first song at the age of 13, and recorded for the first time at the age of 14. After many courses in music, vocal lessons and constant solo appearances within the church, Cecret felt comfortable enough to begin recording with other acts. In 1992, Cecret recorded with a small rap group located in the Pacific Northwest. In 1993, Cecret began performing at The Rain Tree, a local nightclub. 1994 she won several talent contests, which exposed her to a wider audience. During 1995 she displayed her talent in a local version of ShowTime at the Apollo held at the Rialto Theatre. In 1996, she blossomed as a live performer at The Vault, another local nightclub where she developed and perfected her live act. By the time she was 25, Cecret acquired a vast amount of experience from performing in front of large crowds. In the summer of 1998, this budding star opened for comedian Rudy Ray Moore, AKA Dolomite, at the Temple Theater. During 1999 through 2001, the 27 year old vocalist recorded vocals for Ocean Records Recording Artist “Azarel” as well as other local recording artists. Currently Cecret Jones is writing music and lyrics for future projects and is set to appear on Azarel’s next project in 2002.
“Singing makes me feel alive; performing is one of it’s perks”—Cecret Jones.
