Artist History matt berlin has been a practising musician for over 20 years. he has been an active performer, composer, and producer since the age of 14. in 1995, matt co-founded cydonia records and played bass and synths for the progressive rock band, 23rd hour, which achieved critical acclaim and a devoted international following. in 1998, he began regularly contributing musical compositions to film and television libraries in the u.s., europe, and japan. in 2001, his passion for music, his taste for all things eclectic and electric, and his industry acumen crystalised as the dark backward, a labour of love more than 10 years in the making. working with a variety of talented musicians and sound designers, he assembled a formidable array of high-tech toys and sonic widgets, then set about arranging and producing the some 140+ song ideas he had accumulated over the years. the result is _vitriol_, an alchemical celebration of change, which will be released on cydonia records, ltd sometime in mid-2002.
