How To Create a GCB
Ingredients:
One loud engineer with a passion for technology, beats and a spare room.
A skinny bassist with fat sounds and a chemical tendency.
A truckie, sick of singing to himself at the lights, now with an extra mouth to feed.
And a blues guitarist who consistently has to be turned down.
Throw all the ingredients together in suburbia, add a generous seving of timing and some EB and allow to infuse for about five years, then hope for the best. |

Artist History
Grover's Coma is a Garage Band in the true sense of the word. Originally formed in Perth, Western Australia in 1995/96. The original line up went by the name "Seven" and played nowhere except for in the back of the garage. Attempts to venture further into the world (namely the driveway) we foiled by a visit by the local ranger.
A few years, a few line up changes and a couple breaks, Grover’s Coma evolved into what it is today, a garage band that plays the occasional gig. Though overlooked by triple J unearthed, the next big thing, national campus band competition, 15 minutes of fame, popstars and the monthly fete at the deaf society, the band has never given up. They have just started blaming their lack of success on the fact that they have never sold out (but would be quite prepared to do so if the need arose) by continually playing their own stuff and only ever breaking into a rendition of the ship song when a dollar was needed to buy a new shirt from the Sammy’s.
Primarily focussed on writing and recording demos at home, the band now practices regularly in a warehouse in an industrial area (we think of it at a large garage with no neighbours). This supplemented with the odd gig at a friends party, air play on the local community radio station (KCR-FM) or an appearance in competition or “jam†night at a pub.
The current line up comprises of Marcel (Marco) St Jack on vocal and acoustic guitar, Dan (Shaker) Tonon on guitar and backing vocals, Brad Edwards on bass and Mike (Eddy) Edwards on drums. If you are asking what style, well I guess you will have to have a listen to a couple of tracks.
