Artist description
Nelson Kraft:
Nelson started playing music at the age of 8, when his uncle gave him his first guitar and taught him 3 chords. From then on he taught himself how to play guitar by listening to albums.
At age 11 Nelson entered a school talent contest singing and playing “Stairway To Heaven”, winning first place.
Through the years, Nelson had played with a couple of bands, entered some singing contest did some recording, but mainly focused on supporting his family and taking care of his 3 children. Two of them being disabled.
Last year, Nelson decided to move to Nashville to go after his music dream. There he met Gregg and they started playing together. The two of them can sing and play guitar so naturally, it was obvious they should pursue this dream together.
Nelson said, “There was something missing in his music, and now that Gregg and him have been singing, playing guitar and writing together, it finally feels complete.
Gregg and Nelson’s ambitions are “To make a difference in every way they can.” If success comes our way, we feel it’s very important to give back to those in need and to help people in any way we can. For example, Nelsons song “Windows In Your Mind” was written for his autistic son, and for his other disabled son who suffers from Klinefelters Syndrome. Nelson and Gregg plan on starting their own Autism and Klinefelters Syndrome foundation with proceeds from his song.
Gregg and Nelson said, “I want my epitaph to say I was a good person and a humanitarian first - a singer/songwriter second.”
Gregg Horn: Gregg started playing guitar at age 11 when he saw Roy Clark play “Somewhere My love” instrumentally on Hee Haw. He went into his room with his mom’s acoustic guitar and learned the song in a 1/2 an hour. From there he taught himself how to play the guitar.
Gregg’s parents always taught him to never limit himself to just one kind of music and with that advice he has played everything from Heavy metal Rock & Roll to Bluegrass and all points in between. Being this versatile Gregg has always been able to make a living playing in bands and traveling the country.
Six years ago Gregg moved from Ann Arbor Michigan, to Nashville, to try to make a mark in music. He concentrated on setting up a house and making a living before going full force into music.
Gregg played in a few bands but never really felt comfortable until he met Nelson. They got together and Gregg said “It’s like I found the other half of my brain in Nelson. We just play and sing so naturally together and it feels like we’ve been doing this forever. Gregg & Nelson’s ambitions are to make a difference in everyway they can. If success comes our way, we feel it’s very important to give back to those in need and help people in any way we can. Nelsons song “Windows In Your Mind” was written for his autistic son and his other disabled son who suffers from Klinefelters Syndrome. Nelson and Gregg plan on starting their own Autism and Klinefelters syndrome foundation with the proceeds of this song.
