Artist History It is the insight, intellect, and tireless drive of Brad Franco that sets him apart from other singer/songwriters of today. What began as a hobby during his early teen years has become a passion and an obsession for this 22-year-old upstate New York native. A prolific songwriter with well over 250 songs to his credit, Brad Franco is an up and coming artist who is at the dawn of what is certain to be a successful and long-lasting career. Immersed in his youth with the music of earlier generations, including the Beatles, Billy Joel, the Beach Boys and Chicago, Franco began his journey into music as a trumpet player and pianist. At twelve, Franco discovered the music of Pearl Jam and Nirvana and began to develop a tremendous interest in understanding what it was that gave the music of these artists so much power and meaning. By the age of fifteen, his discovery of the acoustic guitar and of the music of the Dave Matthews Band and Radiohead ignited a need to share his inner most feelings through music. Now, writing in a style reminiscent of David Gray and a young Bob Dylan, Franco's lyrics clearly demonstrate a depth of understanding of a man who has not only thrust himself into life but has contemplated the complex issues facing the world that we live in today. His life experiences here in the states and his time spent living in Italy have provided him with a unique perspective on life and love. With formal training in music and music theory, Franco has an extraordinary understanding of chord structure and harmony, and has the remarkable ability to craft catchy Beatlesque melodies out of his original and thought provoking lyrics.
