    Artist History
The Initial beginnings of These 3 Remain started around 1998. The name "These 3 Remain" comes from *1 Cor. 13:9-13. Commonly called the love chapter, these verses struck the trio because the chapter shows how meaningless everything is without love. Even after everything goes away These Three will Remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. It is one of the most powerful and hopeful messages in God's Word. The message of T3R is hopefully an echoing of that love that God has for all of us. No matter the situation we lift our praise to our Father because he is worthy of our love & praise & worship. T3R has evolved over the last two years to its current line up, but it's evolution was something like this: Matt Denman (Rhythm Guitar & Vocals) had some songs he wanted to share. He started playing & working with Jon Branch (Lead Guitar) about that time. John is an incredible guitarist. They really clicked both spiritually and musically. Soon after that Peter Keates (lead singer & Keyboards) began singing & writing with Matt & Jon. Peter is a Vocal major at OU. From this nucleus much of the creative foundation of T3R was formed. They were very thankful to acquire the talents of Chad McClellan (Bass). Chad is a trained classical pianist & music major at USAO. Fred Russell (Drums & Vocals) joined the group one month prior to T3R going into the studio to record its first album in July 2000. Fred was in the pioneering Christian band Messenger in the 80's. During those sessions, the band invited Mike Branch (Sax) to play on several of the tracks. It was obvious that his work completed the sound the band was searching for and he joined the band shortly after the sessions were completed. T3R's sound & musical style has been described by some as a combination of 'The Dave Mathews Band, a touch of U2 'The Edge' guitar sound and a Jars of Clay vocal sound. The band released its debut CD the self titled "These Three Remain" on November 18th of 2000. Becoming one in heart and faithfulness in service to Jesus and in leading others in Praise & worship of our Lord was then, and is now the sole reason for the bands existence. The primary vision of T3R is to use the talents & gifts that God has given each of us and give them back through the music that he allows us to create.
