Artist description
Terror Toys has never been about trends or fads. Since their inception on Halloween Night 1991, Terror Toys has done things their way. In an era where bored-looking shoegazers with backwards baseball caps are the norm, Terror Toys still believes in putting on a show for the eyes and well as for the ears. You may like them or hate them, but you will surely notice them. Besides the prerequisite lipstick and eyeliner, the band puts on a show of amazing energy. From Jodi’s aggressive, in-your-face stage presence; to Ashley’s flashy, ham-it-up drumming style; to Joe Joe’s cool and collected presence; to James’ bursts of motion like a wind-up toy from hell; Terror Toys has put on dozens of memorable shows and won over the toughest audiences.
However, unlike some bands for whom “image comes first,” Terror Toys hasn’t forgotten the value of a good, well-played song. Terror Toys’ music combines elements of glam (New York Dolls, Hanoi Rocks, Faster Pussycat), punk (Ramones, Misfits, Chaos UK), and goth/death-rock (Christian Death, Lords of the New Church, The Cure). The lyrical content ranges from moody introspection to seething rage to all-out humor. The band members pride themselves on their ability to write catchy songs that most listeners will have the songs running through their heads for days. |
