Artist description
Anyone following the career of Phil Waters knows there are many musical sides to his personality: Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Funk, Pop and clever original songs all comprise the colors of Phil's palette. Now, he brings it all together on Retrospect, Phil’s first full album release. A seamless collection of originals, the album shows why Phil Waters should easily take his place alongside the best of composers and performers.
Phil remains very much the husband, with his wife Jessica. Deeply spiritual, he has two children from a previous marriage. "That's why I'm here," he says. "I love singing, I love producing, but at the end of the day, the most important thing is home, family and friends." The months ahead will find Phil performing the music from his album. But despite the many hardships he’s encountered, Phil finds his ultimate artistic goals still elusive. "Music is difficult," he says. "It takes a long time to figure it out. Right now, I'm just taking my time to keep learning my craft." If Retrospect is any indication, he hasn't far to go.
