Artist History
Raised on a ranch in a small-town New
Mexico, Michelle Rae was the fourth of five
children in a musical family. Michelle's father
Frank was an archaeologist by day, a
Mariachi band leader by night. Her
mother Helen was an accomplished pianist
and singer, playing classical music from Bach
to Beethoven by ear, never learning to read
music. Though Michelle would sit in her room
listening to the local country music station
most of the time, she benefited greatly from
her parents wildly contrasting talents, learning
to play the keyboard and a touch of the guitar.
After high school she chose a hands-on
education, traveling and living in European
cities for years. When in London she was
featured on MTV Europe for her singing and
songwriting with Emile Lobo, her partner
at the time. Michelle has now returned to the
United States and embraced her roots. She is
building an impressive library of country tunes
and hopes that people will enjoy listening to
and singing along with the primary music of
her childhood.

Press Reviews
Michelle Rae. There is a real skill in being
able to sing so well. Unlike the raw, rootsy,
impure pitch of what many tend to describe
as real country, Michelle's voice is nearly
pristine in its tone. Very professional recording
done by a professional songwriter and singer.
This has commerical appeal written all over it.
