Artist History
THE FULL UNABRIDGED STORY
well, makeoutmusic decided to release the story of their birth, which will be made into a feature film in collaboration with miramax. here's what it's all about, li'l dawgy-dawgs:
tyler, holland, and olivier, met in ms. starpoli's fourth grade class in millbrook, ny........
.......seven years later, tyler decided to start a band, which is kind of funny since he was the only one who didn't play an instrument at that point. so he figured that since he had no noticeable musical talent he would take on the drums. olivier played gitfiddle and holland played bassfiddle and they borrowed their friend rob's stuff cause they couldn't afford their own. olivier taught tyler some bare-bones drumming, and tyler got a drumset for cramptus, courtesy of papa mahal (that's tyler's daddy). so they practiced and a-practiced and sucked nonetheless and then they wrote some songs that sucked and got the name makeoutmusic, courtesy of holland. you know, like a joke. makeoutmusic...punk rock...get it? so them boys cut a shitty e.p. entitled 'the losing project' with some guy named barry. after being berated and torn apart by the public, makeoutmusic decided they should try to be a good band, rather than a shitty one. so they practiced some more and recorded another demo in tyler's basement, and it sucked again. by this time makeoutmusic was playing shows around the poughkeepsie ny area, and was pretty widely disliked by the general populace. tensions between the band members began to arise, and a musical rift began to show itself. and all of a sudden, like a slap in the face, there it was: holland was an emo kid. of course this had happened gradually over the year, and while holland's stuff got softer and slower, olivier's stuff got faster and louder, bringing a strange schitziophrenic character to the band. in the end, punk-won out, in name of a little dynamo by the name of steven dean, who had seen an add up for a punk-rockin bass-player at alto music. after meeting the kids for the first time and almost crashing into an old lady in a red minivan, steve joined the band, and immediately brought about some makeoutmusic classics such as pipe-job and teenage icon. five months later, they cut another four track demo at some burnt out guy's home studio in kingston, after almost getting blacklisted from every venue in the area. the disc received some acclaim from the public, and it was then that makeoutmusic decided that they might be a decent band after all. after an adequate amount of rejoicing and steve quitting drugs, they wrote a couple songs and recording at millbrook sound studios, where engineer paulie quickly earned a special spot in the boys's hearts with his quick wit, radiant charm, and tendencies to want to stab the pizza man in the throat with a screwdriver. flathead or philips never came up, and everyone seemed to be content to let it lie at that. after that some boring stuff happened, olivier went to college tyler went to college and steve had been in college for two years, but they kept writing music and rockin out and kicking soccer balls against tyler's barn, breakin dem windows. finally in the summer of 2003, makeoutmusic decided to release their first "official" E.P., so back to paulie's they went. then they went on tour, and now they are here, eating cheese sangwiches. i guess that's it.
