Additional Info
This is serious tripping music. Psychedelics speak a language of encoded musical phrases which can only be decoded while under Their Influence. These phrases have a continuity which is often perceived as fractal, sometimes expressed as sarcastic, mirroring or flipping on themselves with a humorous twist yet evolving into 'sentences'. Often this is done with or by way of the accents on various notes not being where the accent on the rhythm of the rest of the music would imply. In other words, the phrases' smilarity or progression is unlocked when they are listened to outside of the other instruments' rhythmic accent, but according to the inflection put on them in certain other places by the artist. It has a dual level, much like the 'magic eye' drawings, where when you cross your eyes, a whole other, 3D image appears to have been hidden within the drawing you *thought* it was all about.. Sun Ra, Floyd, THIS is what they did. Baudelaire wrote about this in his essay on eating hashish, look for it online. |
