Artist History Dwelling´s birth takes place in ´98 under the name of Dwelling in Pain as a solo project by Nuno Roberto. Having in mind the thought of creating music based solely on acoustic instruments, Nuno Roberto collected melodies and fragments of varied inspiration, often concieved having the seaside landscape of the Algarve as background. One of those pieces, `Enthralled´, was actually included on the compilation tape `Algharb in Flames´, issued on the independent label Hibérica during that year, thus officializing the project´s existence. In the year 2000, the need to enrich the project´s musical framework and to turn it into a more established entity will ultimately lead to the recruiting of additional members, with Nuno Roberto extending an invitation to Helder Dias, guitar player for What, in order to request his assistance in the performing and writing process of Dwelling. During the writing process that ensued, the duo wrote down the general guide lines for new songs, and finally, the turn of the year 2000 brings a full line-up for the project, with the addition of Sílvia Freitas, a session violin player for various projects, Catarina Raposo, a debutant singer in the scene, and Jaime Ferreira, originally the bass player for Ramshackle. The first trimester of the year 2001 meets the band finalizing the five pieces that they would later on record during the course of March 2001 and which they now present on `Moments´, the band´s debut MCD, and also the first release for their label Equilibrium Music. Dwelling are presently working on new material, and in the meantime arrangements are being made for selected live concerts.
