Artist History
The IBIS Project is an endeavor to provide sound files corresponding to gravitational waveforms
from full nonlinear evolution simulations of inspiralling binary black holes. It originates in the
Numerical Relativity Group of the Albert Einstein Institute in Golm, Germany. The project
name is derived from the ibis, a rather pretty bird with a surprisingly unsatisfying call
(somewhere between "caw" and "raaaaaaaaaak"). |
