Artist History Love Park the Squirrel was originally formed in 1994 by Jason, Justin, and John. Later they recruited Erik and Marty to join them and become the well-oiled machine that is Love Park today. The five man line-up practiced and played anywhere they could in Sarasota, including The Limerick Junction, The Montery Deli and Bar, The Clubhouse, The Oompa Loompa Festival, and they shared the stage with such acts as the solvents, homeland, 86skyhawk, iceporkdaddy, seth, the dosies, simon said, pigeon toed, and The John Prestia Group. Around the same time, Love Park added a temporary replacement bassist from TURBO named Mike. Early influence and perhaps the one thing that bonded Love Park together was the music of Pearl Jam. It can be felt on the bands first mini-album LOVE PARK THE SQUIRREL: ONE. As time went on, just like anything, the band grew in many different musical directions. With lead singer Justin's brief departure from group to attend school in a different state, the band felt the influences of punk rock, as heard in the release LOVE PARK: LIVE. Although each member has his own diverse taste and style, Love Park has always been about fun. And that's how it should be.
