Artist History
After the breakup of Wes and Mike's first band Akira, Little League was formed in February of 2000 by Wes, Mike, Paul, and Jessie Clark. The foursome began writing songs in Wes' disgustingly filthy basement in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. Despite the dirt and Wes' dog pissing on all the equipment, Little League finally had a full set and was ready to play their first show. The first show was a strange one. Opening for their dear friends The Bad Luck 13 Riot Extravaganza a.k.a. the most dangerous band in America, the boys played their first set together. As with most first times they were a little excited and a little sloppy, coming to soon at some points...but it went well and they knew they were onto something good. A couple of months of writing went by and George Foster joined the band to play 2nd guitar, giving the band the full sound that they were looking for. A few weeks after that, Jimmy Walsh joined Little League as the new and permanent drummer. The lineup was set, so the guys focused on writing songs and playing as many shows as they could. Shortly after recording their first demo (8 songs) with Steve Poponi at the Gradwell House in July of 2000, Little League was signed to Chord Recordings to release a full length on Too Damn Hype Records. Since they signed the contract Little League has spent a lot of time recording at Sigma Sound Studios with producer Mike Richelle. And they have also spent a lot of time waiting, but I guess that's just the way it goes. They have also played a shit load of shows with bands like Samiam, Cave In, The Movielife, Grade, Fairweather, Nine Lives, Element 101, Strike Anywhere, The Starting Line, Breaking Pangaea, etc., getting people ready up for their debut full length "Through Our Ears, Through Our Hearts".
