Artist History This album contains ten of Cliff's original songs, including "the Paperboy", a yodeling favorite, which garnered multiple encores when he performed it at the Grand Ole Opry. Cliff grew up in DeLeon Springs, Florida where he learned to sing and play the guitar from his father. He won numerous talent contests as a youngster and began to write his own songs when he was fifteen years old. He began performing professionally the next few years with another great singer, songwriter,musician, Mark River, comprising the Central Florida duo,"JUST US" which later became known as "River & Taylor". Later on, Cliff put together his own band, BRONCO MESA, and opened for such acts as Clint Black, David Alan Coe, Johnny Rodriguez,Dwight Yoakum, Moe Bandy, Collin Raye and Emmylou Harris in the following years. Cliff is the recent grand winner of the 2000 Hank Williams' Songwritng Competition held in Hank's hometown of Georgianna, Alabama. His original song, "YOU CAN THANK HANK" earned him top honors and he was invited to open the next days' following show for Billie Joe Royal, Lori Morgan, Hank's daughter, Jett Williams and others. This album is his first full-length release of all original material that was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. Currently, Cliff is a regular performer at the world famous FLORA-BAMA Lounge in Perdido Key on the Fl/AL state line. He also plays at the PURPLE PARROT and PAPA ROCCO'S as well as other venues in the region. His first song "Why Daddy Why" had the whole crowd in ears and his second song "The Paperboy" had them on their feet. It may have been writers night, but the night at that point belonged to him and him alone. He blew everyone away.
