They began playing shows in FEB of 2000 playing many shows in Springfield at places like the Asylum, Skank Skates and Vieles Planet. They have shared the stage with bands such as Hatebreed, One King Down, AFI, The Hoods, A Global Threat, Awkward Thought, The Krays, The Truents, Cold As Life, Right Arm Death Threat, Provoke, New Society Of Anarchists, 8 Buck Expiriment among others.
In October of 2000 they recorded their first EP "Nothing More To Say". After the recording, the band let Ben Pierro go.In his place PFP recruited Jim Lorton for guitar duties. In Jan of 2001 Aaron Freeman and Jim Rice both left the band. Matt Lynch took over bass duties. Now a four piece, Pound For Pound released a 3 song Demo EP in April of 2002. Press Reviews
"Well, alright, the first release from these locals. Just straight up Hardcore punk here. At times this very similiar to the older fast paced HC, check out the song the song "Open your Eyes", to at times having that chug sound that has been known throughout with a lot of the newer hardcore bands, with the song "Fear of Tommorrow" giving us a good feel of this. Even a little melodic at times, try hearing "Better Judgement" to get the full effect. This is ain't too bad for being a first release. Even though there sound has more gone towards the chug side of things, hopefully we will expect more of the same energy flowed music from these guys!!" JOE G, Know No Boundaries Zine
"...It was time for Pound for Pound! All the kids and everyone were dancing and moshing in the pit and really having a good time..." -Show review from January 19,2001. with Cold As Life, Provoke, Clenched Fist.
