Press Reviews Longtime Philly stalwart and former G.U.M.B.O. crew member Legrand is putting the finishing touches on his first full length, entitled Illusions Of LegrandEUR. The album serves as a good preview for what's next from this 215 emcee. Legrand does just enough lyrically to effectively use the mellow, organ laced track to his advantage. He doesn't attempt to overpower but smartly and smoothly rides it out. It's his growth an an artist that makes it possible. I felt words like "Legrand bring flames I'm cock D like Ving Rames and spit more verses than King James..." and "I drop heavier than a ton weigh, battle more cats than Adunde..." Some will assert that Legrand ain't comin' hard enough but I think that's missing the point. Those who feel that way probably aren't in this brother's target market anyway.
