Artist description
Distorted Frequency is a DIY electonic, cut and paste
project based out of Santa Fe, NM fronted by St3v3-0-mat1c and brian botkiller.
We've released one self-released EP containing four songs, and
played many live shows in our area. We look at music as something that
needs to be experienced, something that needs to be heard and felt at the same time.
We support the local electronic scene and want to see live electronic music become
more established than ever before. |

Artist History
Distorted Frequency was formed in September of 2000 by brian and steve0. We began
programming songs on a Sony Playstation via the program known as
MTV music generator. After writing about 10 tracks there, we moved in together and
began to write music via our actual instruments, mainly a juno 6 keyboard and a roland
mc-505 groovebox. We played our first live show in January of 2001 and found it to
be an amazing experience, and have since played more shows to more packed houses. Our self-released EP, "afraid of technology" has
been making the rounds on club floors, radio stations and within people's headfones for the past few months. We see the future
as being more writing, more recording, and more playing live.

Group Members
St3v3-0-mat1c: Steve is the programming genius of the band. Writing on his Roland Mc-505 groovebox sequencer, he creates most of the
body of DF's tracks. Steve0 is very meticulous about what he does, writing for hours to get something sounding right.
Most of DF's sound is based off of Steve0's programming.
brian botkiller: brian is the other half of the band, doing sample work from his old, 80's grade Ensoniq sampler module thru a beat-up MIDI keyboard.
Along with that, brian plays a Roland Juno-6 Keyboard, run thru multiple effects to create what he can only define as "art of noise". brian is mainly
a drummer at heart, and uses a z00m drum machine to add backup drums to Steve's sequenced beats. |
