    Artist History
DAEMON originally started out as a 4 piece with Robert Garcia, Chris Fansler, Joseph Fontenot and Mike Patrick. The band played in support of their 2 self releases and Fansler and Garcia decided the music business wasn't for them, so Patrick and Fontenot continued along with new members Kevin Rynders former Drummer of Drowning Pool and guitarist Jason Pittman. Press Reviews
PAUL TANGAROA RAW NERVE PROMOTIONS The Review of "GraveDance" is finally in!!!! .DAEMON. - Gravedance 7 tracks 24 minutes Daemon is a bit of an odd prospect in all truth. Plentiful amounts of unobvious and in some parts possibly unintentional influences being shown all put together pretty well. I get the main reference points as Pantera (especially "Vulgar Display of Power" era), Konkhra, Entombed, occasionally Life of Agony, due in part to the weirdly nasal singing voice that pops up fairly frequently. There are Machine Head parts in there and most definitely some Slipknot, harking towards their more heavier moments, but the overall mood isn't as totally polished as those bands, giving it a different sort of edge. Title track "Gravedance" is almost Swedish style death metal ala At The Gates and The Haunted in the intro riff and there is Fear Factory also through in, but Daemon don't sound like any of these directly, which is why this CD is pretty refreshing. Good solid metal songs (with an occasional death leaning / nu metal ideas / thrash edge also). I guess the thing that sets it differently to all those bands is the production, which does lack a little but doesn't desperately hinder. As people are probably beginning to gather, the production can make or break a CD. I think should Daemon receive a massive production one day then they appear to have the songs and enough ideas to carry it off and make it all worthwhile. The playing is pretty tight and the songs are solid. "Smile" is perhaps the craziest track with some excellent drumming and very definite Slipknot influence (from their self titled CD). Nice blasts at the start and tight double pedal work. "Free" has some cool death metal growls before the opening "Now I've turned my back on this life, I'm never gonna come back" lines. Some awesome Haunted-esque riffings continue in this track, which is possibly my favorite on here. The only Low point was Drift which isn't the type of song that I particularly care for, Anyways, take nothing away from the rest of the CD, but if you get chance to hear this, do yourself a favor and don't Judge the rest of this really well put together, powerful, metallic CD by listening to the end track. It's a bloody good record otherwise :) This is a damn good mini CD
