Artist description
Cardboard Canary is an obscure little band which consists of four members: Bradford Johnson, Justin Norman, Blake Brown and Robby Ogden.
We enjoy eating mangos and fruit loops. We also like watching commericials with Bob Dole in them. Kevin Eubanks mothered us all. |

Artist History
Cardboard Canary was founded in early 2000 by Justin Norman and Bradford Johnson.
Originally, Justin was the only one capable of playing an instrument, and Bradford was the only
one capable of singing, so the group based their first album, "Efforts of the Untalented" on
pure "there's-a-capybara-in-my-ear" humor. The following year, the two hooked up
with drummer Devin Bonnstetter and guitarist Blake Brown, Bradford gained talent on the guitar, Justin learned to sing
and play bass, Robby Ogden took over drumming duties and the group now shows a little bit of everything musically in their performances. |

Press Reviews
"How is everybody doing tonight?" asked Cardboard Canary's bassist Justin Norman at the start of their set. After a few moments of dismal clapping he continued, "It's always great to get mediocre responses!" In no time, the band had won the crowd over by playing a riveting set full of hits like "Love Sucks" and "Homeword Bound" and pausing for a moment as singer/guitarist Blake Brown performed a heartfelt acoustic solo, "You Complete Me."
While the band tuned between songs, singer/guitarist Bradford Johnson amused the crowd with humorous anecdotes about middle school break-ups and enchanted forests. Drummer Devin Bonnstetter impressed everyone, even fellow local drummer Chris Pardekooper who later said, "He's even better than I was at that age."
