Artist History
After a few years of honing their sound in the local clubs of suburban New York, "Tripmonster" were soon filling NYC venues, such as "Atlantis" in Greenwich Village, and also the legendary "Continental". For two years, they held a regular Thursday-night spot as the house band at Company B's in Orangeburg, NY. The band's first single, "Stand Up", was featured on "Propaganda", a national release on Phisst records by the "Rock the Vote" organization. Other bands on the album included The Rake's Progress and Life Like Feel. In September of '99, "Twisted Love" held the Number One spot on Mp3.com's "Power Pop" chart for over a week, and rose to #15 on the Alternative chart as well. |

Press Reviews
"A blend of music that is entertaining, meaningful and easy to listen to...They are a refreshing breath in today's age of untalented egomaniacs." --Scott Howard, The Central Recorder
"O'Keefe played some of the most furious and intense guitar I have ever seen being played..." --Carli Schultz, The College Voice
"This is a prettily produced demo...Their style might be a tad bit rockier, but their harmonies are pure Gin Blossoms-style sweetness. Who knows, with the right finishing touches, Tripmonster could take over the airwaves for a couple of months, too. They sound like they deserve a few moments in the sun, so all the more power to them." --Brandi Berry, "OCULUS" |
