Artist description
Mark Lint is a singer/songwriter who belts out interesting lyrics in a warbling baritone and bangs a classical guitar. He's presently promoting an album recorded with his power pop band The Fake Johnson Trio, which later morphed into Mark Lint and the Fake, a band that added a greater range to this catchy energy by adding elements of funk, blues, swing, and country to the FJT sound. Mark recently moved away from Austin, TX to Madison, WI and has formed a brand new band, Madison Lint. He is also putting the finishing touches on two albums featuring some of his favorite Austin musicians. |

Artist History
Mark Linsenmayer (8/4/71) spent his four years of college with Ann Arbor eclectic band The MayTricks, featuring songwriter Steve Petrinko and guitar genius Geoff Esty. He moved to Austin in Aug., 1994 to go to grad school in philosophy and started The Fake Johnson Trio, which gigged heavily for a few years in the Austin area and then retreated into the studio to record the Mark Lint and The Fake Johnson Trio album. The band emerged in the new guise of Mark Lint and the Fake in the fall of '97, played a number of exciting shows featuring a more Austinite aesthetic, and is presently in the mixing stages of an 18-song album of new material called "So Whaddaya Think?" Mark's new band, Madison Lint, has begun gigging in Madison, WI and just finished a demo of fresh, verbose, and fairly funky material. For much more history, check out http://www.marklint.com . |
