Artist History
db9d9 was formed in san diego, ca. in october of 1994 by eric recourt and ward slojkowski. a creative vehicle for their disturbed musical visions, db9d9 also serves as a "release valve" of sorts for all of the frustration and anger associated with living in modern society as someone who doesn't quite fit in. this style often results in the listener feeling as if these hard feelings are being taken out on him or her (an insight which isn't entirely untrue). db9d9 produces intense electronic dance based music that fuses the power and aggressiveness of early punk and industrial with pop hooks and sensibilities. this method seems to allow extremely powerful music to be more easily digested by the mainstream. infectious beats, innovative sounds and a sinister look add up to a band that can truly move an audience, a fact that has been proven time and time again in db9d9's riveting live performances. the shows are intimate, aggressive and involving, creating many reactions, but never one of indifference. |

Press Reviews
The Return of Industrial: This is the best industrial record I have heard this year. Hands down this is one of my favorite ablums in the past couple years. These guys put KMFDM to shame. Throbbing electronic and acoustic drum tracks, thick bass guitar and ripping guitars. Two incredibly good instrumental dance songs to boot as well. This is a cd to get your day started to. A must have if you're a fan of good guitar/electro music. Trent Reznor better watch his back. -Chris Paulson/Record Store Owner from Atlanta, Georgia |
