Artist History
Parts bard, minstrel, bozo, phantasmic philosopher, songwriter, instrumentalist, and recording artist, Dan Oakenhead has been described as a "contemporary songster with a vision". His acoustic song tapestries are woven from his days as writer, farmhand, geographer, wanderer, and, as he says, "other times too esoteric to talk about, but which clearly appear in the songs." .Notable shows have included appearances at the Alaska Folk Festival, and an enthusiastically received opening for world-renowned Scottish band, Capercaille. Dan has opened for and collaborated with the likes of Tom Waitts, Chris Brubeck, and Steve Boynton. Favoring special performances where folks gather for song and story, Dan can regularly be heard at house concerts, festivals, and preferred music listening rooms |
