Group Members
This band of six, well talented musicians and songwriters have a unique musical background. They all share similar gospel music roots which are appreciative to good music and talent. Their talents and training rage from gospel and jazz to rock jazz/fusion and some serious funk! All of this rich, original talent and unbridled fire and passion comes from deep within, an inner spirit that they all share...it's melodies and forever creative arrangements are best captured and presented by lead singer and band lyricist and songwriter, Barrett Bryant. His soulful vocal conviction and style are incomparable. It's like combininig Otis Redding, Maxwell and Lenny Kravitz into one Barrett for the rock world of today! This is a singer to be reckoned with. Barrett takes vocal rock soul to new heights and simply soars wth incredible
range and emotion. His conviction is felt on stage like none other...he just moves you to believe; a natural singer. BlackPerl's rhythm section captures the essence of rock music to the fullest. Their timing and crisp, solid arrangements always feel brand new and well crafted every time they are played. BlackPerl's drummer, Nick Williams, is a master of pocket and clean, solid, intricate beats. This bro can lay down a beat and take it any place you want it! He's a born gifted, talent who exemplifies the tru quality of his gospel music roots. BlackPerl banks most of the power of it's punch in its guitar players, Jermaine Rand and David Whild. The Hendrix-influenced, power guitar player, Jermaine confirms this band's lock down on energy and performance. Jermaine has a gift for precissional rock tonality that is rich and soulful to its core. Standing in the wings is BlackPerl's other guitar half, David Whild. David will always maintain and create the band's infectious guitar melodies and added power of sizzling guitar riffs. The bass can be a band's defining moment. The band's bass player, Aaron Clay, provides the subtly as a bass player thats needed and then transforms his style into the hard-hitting, talented player who compliments the band so well. Embracing melody and such creatively inspired arrangements like no other is it's keyboardist, Arthur Turner...this cat can play! He gives the band just what it needs, creative and new arrangements that melodically glow; that should always be attractive to all.

Press Reviews
Crave, the band's debut EP, is a welcomed potpourri of refreshing hits which features an unpredictable mix of lead singer Barrett Bryant's sultry compelling vocals against stirring, soulful metallic guitar arrangements (The Alternative Review). BlackPerl's live show is da bomb! They rock and really know how to convey the spirit of a true song by quality singing and serious playing. This show reminded me of Lenny Kravitz and Pearl Jam put together, Their live show doesn't at all touch what you hear on their debut CD. If you thought that was good, then check out BlackPerl live and their forthcoming LP, debut album! These are some quality musicians who have all the makings of the next big hit! Thier show is simply electrifying!
